The Clinical PsyD program is the oldest at Ferkauf and has been fully accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) since 1985. The program is known for producing generalist clinical psychologists who are well-prepared to work with diverse populations in a variety of settings. Its mission is to train highly effective professionals who are both scholarly and compassionate, integrating scientific knowledge, theory, and research into clinical practice. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, research, and clinical skills, while fostering values such as inclusion, professionalism, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
The program offers a comprehensive and sequential training model that includes didactic instruction, practicum placements, and supervised clinical experiences. Students receive hands-on training through prestigious externships and four years of clinical work at the on-site Parnes University Clinic. With a 97% internship match rate over the past decade, graduates are consistently placed in top internships and post-doctoral fellowships, and go on to successful careers in academic, hospital, community, and private practice settings. The program’s strong alumni network of over 1,000 professionals provides ongoing support and career opportunities.
To earn a PsyD in Clinical Psychology, students must complete 115 credits of coursework. Students must also successfully complete the requirements on the PsyD Completion Form.
