AIM 6004 Man & Machine: Creativity, Leadership & Limits of AI

This course examines how humans create, lead, and make decisions in environments transformed by rapidly advancing AI systems. Students explore the aspects of cognition, creativity, and judgment that remain uniquely human, as well as those increasingly mediated or supported by intelligent tools. The course analyzes how shifting capabilities and reliance on AI reshape individual skills, team dynamics, and organizational expectations, and how leaders can respond to uneven expertise, changing roles, and emerging forms of autonomy. Emphasis is placed on leading AI-amplified teams, understanding when human judgment must remain central, and developing approaches that support effective decision-making and innovation during periods of technological transition. By the end of the course, students develop a personal leadership framework suited to organizations navigating the opportunities and tensions introduced by AI-intensive work.
