BIOE 5903 Bioethics Independent Study

This course provides an opportunity for fully matriculated MBE students to design and participate in a semester-long, seminar-style independent study, under the supervision of a faculty advisor, with significant reading and writing to be completed. Students may apply for 1-2 academic credits, noting that 1 credit typically requires 15 contact hours with the advisor, with each contact hour requiring an additional 2 hours of outside work. Approval for credit will be granted on an individual basis, after review by the Center and the University Registrar, upon which the student will be registered for a given term, with the faculty advisor as instructor of record. As with all independent studies, the student needs to choose a faculty member to help devise the project and then have the proposal approved by the Center.
