COM 4580 Cybersecurity

This course covers the aspects of cybersecurity that are critical for building and deploying secure applications in today's highly networked and distributed technology environment. Students will study the major aspects of system security (authentication, access control, attacks and defenses, etc.), as well as cryptography and secure coding. Topics include: Cryptography, Operational Security, Authentication, Authorization, and Access controls, Malware, Web-based vulnerabilities, Designing and coding secure software, Network security. Prerequisite(s): COM 2512, COM 2545 and COM 3610.
