ECON 5669 Capstone in Quantitative Finance

In this course, students will integrate the skills developed in the previous classes into a comprehensive body of knowledge and provide tangible evidence of these competencies through an applied project, thesis, or equivalent graduate-level activity approved by the program director. Example focus areas include quantitative economics, financial economics, quantitative finance, financial engineering, financial mathematics, and data science for financial applications though students may propose other related areas based on their interest or the opportunity to participate in faculty research or a corporate initiative. The Capstone will include four components: 1) a brief proposal and project schedule; 2) the main deliverable; and 3) a final presentation. Faculty will provide students with mentorship and feedback at each stage of their project or thesis.
