ENG 0011 English as Second Language I

Written and spoken English, including examination of the nature of the language. First-semester students who are not native speakers must take a placement examination to enter ENG 1101; otherwise, they are placed into one of the three levels of ESL. Each ESL student advances through these levels until he is ready to begin ENG 1101. (3 hours)
