HON 4920 Honors Thesis Writing

This capstone course guides students through the intensive drafting, revision, and completion of their Honors Senior Thesis. Students will expand their preliminary drafts into comprehensive scholarly works through sustained writing, multiple rounds of revision, and close collaboration with their faculty mentors. The semester requires at least four meetings with faculty mentors to ensure continuous feedback and guidance. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in peer review with fellow Honors students and to schedule Writing Center appointments with Honors Thesis Specialists for feedback on writing style, structure, and argumentation. By mid-semester, students will submit a complete first draft to their mentors for substantive feedback. The final weeks focus on revision, citation refinement, and professional formatting according to program guidelines. Upon completion, students will submit a polished final thesis that represents original scholarship and demonstrates mastery of research methods, critical analysis, and academic writing. Previously offered as HON 4981. Prerequisite(s): HON 4910 may be taken as a prerequisite or corequisite.
