MAT 5450 Computational Topology

Computational topology is a new area of mathematics at the interface between topology, geometry, and computer science. It has applications to a broad range of fields including computer graphics (e.g., feature identification), visualization (e.g., contour trees), sensor networks (e.g., hole detection), machine learning (e.g., clustering), and computational biology. Recently, there has been a new trend to apply computational topology methods for data analysis.
