PHYS 4111 Introduction to 3D Printing

This course offers an in-depth introduction to 3D printing technology, focusing on its fundamentals and applications in product design using Autodesk Fusion 360. Students begin by exploring the core principles of additive manufacturing, including various printing techniques and materials, and gain hands-on experience creating detailed 3D models suitable for printing. The course also covers the applied mechanics of additive manufacturing, specifically how stress affects 3D-printed objects and how tolerance governs physical fit.
