BIB 6212 Genesis: Creation of the World

This course explores the Biblical account of Creation as a foundational statement in its portrayal of Biblical cosmic history in Genesis 1-11. It proposes that there is much to be learned from studying the Biblical account in the context of related Mesopotamian literary descriptions of creation and primeval cosmic history, which allows for understanding the Biblical text in fresh and provocative ways.
