COM 1300 Introduction to Computer Science

This course introduces the application of Computer Science concepts through the development of procedural and object-oriented programs. We will cover the following topics in this course: number systems, built-in data types, variables, arithmetic and logical expressions, conditionals and loops, lists, dictionaries, input and output, and object oriented programming with custom data types. A significant part of this course involves actually writing programs that implement the above topics, for homework and on exams.
