IDS 6420 Big Data and Machine Learning for Leaders I

This course introduces students to statistical models and machine-learning techniques commonly used in Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery. Students will learn how to process complex datasets using multivariate models to find valuable insights for making near-real-time intelligent business and operation decisions. The course begins with an introduction to big data and the machine learning process, followed by exploratory data analysis and dimension reduction techniques. Topics covered include data visualization, linear regression, logistic regression, regression tree, and classification tree. Students will gain hands-on experience working with data. Prerequisite(s): IDS 5420.
