CSD 6100 Acoustics and Psychoacoustics

This course builds upon the knowledge of phonetics, increasing the knowledge base on measurable parameters involved in the acoustics of oral communication, as well as the connection to psychoacoustic features of effective communication. The student will develop necessary skills in waveform analysis (acoustic and aerodynamic), as well as distinct perception of speech and voice quality. The course includes biological, neurological, acoustic, psychoacoustic, aerodynamic, psychological, developmental, and cultural bases.
