CSD 6500 Audiology for the SLP

This course addresses is designed to familiarize students with the bioacoustics of human communication and hearing including neuroanatomy, anatomy/physiology of the auditory systems, pathology of the auditory systems, acoustic behavior, psychophysical procedures. Overview of the biological bases of auditory dysfunction; anatomical and physiological studies associated with different categories of cochlear insult and central auditory nervous system function. Hearing tests and testing instruments (pure tone, speech and emittance measurements), case finding and referral, interpretation of hearing test results, and organization of hearing conservation programs. Course requires CSD6501 Audiology for SLP: lab.
