Trauma Practice Advanced Certificate

Overview

Students earning the Trauma Practice Advanced Certificate as part of their Master of Social Work program will be will be well equipped to thrive in a dynamic and increasingly vital sector of the social work profession.  Placement opportunities are diverse and impactful, ranging from military service organizations and mental health clinics to substance abuse treatment centers, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, and schools. Each setting offers a unique lens into trauma recovery and the chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

This certificate program is open to all MSW students and courses may be taken in any order, as there are no prerequisites.

Requirements (9 credits)

In addition to the coursework below, students must complete one field placement in an agency which focuses on trauma-based treatment and service delivery.
