Clinical Social Work, DSW

Overview

The Doctor of Social Welfare in Clinical Social Work is a practice-focused program designed for experienced MSW-level clinicians seeking to deepen their expertise and lead in mental health, education, and community settings. The curriculum blends advanced clinical theory, applied research, and leadership development, empowering students to critically apply therapeutic models in diverse, real-world environments.

A signature element of the program is the Grand Challenge Project, a capstone initiative where students identify a pressing clinical issue and design an innovative, evidence-informed intervention. This hands-on project is supported by coursework in clinical supervision, program evaluation, and research methods, preparing students to drive meaningful change in their organizations and communities.

With flexible part-time and full-time pathways, the DSW program is ideal for working professionals. Graduates emerge with advanced clinical skills, leadership insight, and the academic foundation to thrive as clinical educators, agency leaders, and expert practitioners in today’s evolving social work landscape.
