SWK 8806 Writing for Publication

The goal of this course is for PhD students to submit original manuscripts to a venue, either peer-reviewed or non-peer-reviewed, for publication. Students will explore the process of writing for publication and editing for style and accuracy. The seminar emphasizes the integration of analysis, writing, and research, and to better understand and consider the audience for whom they are writing. The seminar allows students to explore and write about a variety of topics in depth. The curriculum is based on a discourse theory of learning, which emphasizes collaborative problem-solving, prompted self-explanation, peer-student review, and dialogue. Prerequisite(s): SWK 8421, SWK 8406, SWK 8425, SWK 8809, SWK 8814, SWK 8422, SWK 8823 and SWK 8296.
