SWK 6111 Psychosocial Assessment and Diagnosis

This course introduces students to content on the assessment and classification of human behavior that often requires social work intervention. This course examines signs, symptoms, and complexity of mental health diagnostic categories. Students learn to examine mental health concerns of diverse social, racial, ethnic, and social class groups with special emphasis on those who have historically been devalued and oppressed. Prerequisite(s): SWK 6004, SWK 6100, SWK 6135, SWK 6201, SWK 6402 and SWK 6532; and SWK 6132 may be taken as prerequisite or corequisite or SWK 6133; or ACC (advanced standing).
