Attendance

Attendance is expected in all courses. For students on probation, attendance is mandatory. Attendance may be a component of the grade of any course, if stated in the syllabus. At the start of the semester, each student must attend class in person to learn the specific attendance, examination, and other requirements of each course. In performance courses (such as laboratory, art, music, and language), attendance is required at all class sessions.  Attendance policies are determined by the instructor of each course in accordance with existing school-level policies, if applicable.

If a student is absent from any course for any cause for more than half a semester and does not officially withdraw from the course, the student will receive a grade of G, which may lead to probation or academic dismissal from the college.

Student athletes should refer to the Student Athlete Policy.

If a student misses a scheduled examination or other announced assignment because of observance of a religious holiday, the student and instructor shall agree upon a mutually convenient time as an alternate date for completion of the assignment.

Attendance Verification: Students who do not attend course(s) for which they are enrolled will be identified by the individual faculty members as Never Attended through an attendance verification process conducted each semester.  The process will take place during the 3rd week of the semester.  Students identified as Never Attended in all of their course(s) may be administratively dropped from their courses.
