Final Exam

Final Exams are an important part of curriculum and course assessment and are required in most coursesAttendance is required.

Students are permitted to take a deferred examination with the approval of their school dean’s office only under exceptional circumstances, namely:

  • Wedding of immediate relative (sibling or parent; an invitation must be submitted)

  • Funeral of and/or shiva for immediate relative (sibling, parent, grandparent; a shul announcement must be submitted)

  • Parents are sitting shiva (a shul announcement must be submitted)

  • Illness (documentation from a healthcare provider, and perhaps also an insurance claim, may be required). Notes from services that provide documentation based only on self-reported symptoms will not be accepted.

Students must follow the school’s specific guidelines and dates for completion of the missed exam. Instructors are not permitted to grant final exam deferrals without prior approval from the dean’s office.
