Part-Time Status

Students who are in their last semester at YU—that is, they are completing all their requirements for graduation in that semester—are permitted to register for fewer than 12 credits. Students are responsible for understanding how part-time enrollment impacts their financial aid status, immigration and visa status, and eligibility to participate in athletics. Students should consult with the Office of Student Accounts, Office of International Student Services or the Athletics Director, respectively, for guidance on these matters. Eligibility for part-time status in academic study does not necessarily imply eligibility for part-time status in Torah or Jewish Studies programs.

Part-Time Status and Undergraduate Torah Studies (Wilf)

Students are expected to participate in their UTS program, as outlined in the Undergraduate Torah Studies section of this catalog. In exceptional cases, part-time students may be permitted to prorate their UTS studies in their final semester. Consult with a UTS adviser.

Part-Time Status and Jewish Studies (Beren)

Students who have completed their Jewish Studies requirements, as outlined in the Stern College for Women Jewish Studies Requirements or Sy Syms School of Business Jewish Studies Requirements, are not required to add Jewish Studies courses to their schedules. Consult with a Jewish Studies adviser to confirm whether all requirements have been met.
