To audit a course at Yeshiva University is to attend class regularly, without the obligation of participating in class discussions, laboratory work, examinations, performances or any class activity other than listening. Students may complete work for the course with permission from the instructor.
Students interested in auditing a course should file the Request to Audit a Course form by the add period deadline noted on the Academic Calendar. A course may be audited under the following conditions:
A student may audit no more than one course a semester.
A student may not audit a course that is required in their program.
Only lecture courses with available seats may be audited.
A student must have a minimum GPA of 3.000.
The University’s attendance policy applies to audited courses.
The instructor must approve the request before it is submitted to the registrar.
Once a student registers, a grade of L (Listener) will be listed on the student’s transcript
An audited course does not count in the student’s workload.
No credit is given for an audited course, and it fulfills no requirements or prerequisites.
There is no registration charge or tuition fee for full-time students. Part-time students will be charged tuition equal to that of a one credit course.
